Cultural Cage

 Cultural-Cage (My Sociological invention-Adapted from Weber's 'Iron-cage of Bureaucracy')

Culture disapproves of our fascination,

But we do whatever we want-

Desire is somewhat of a supreme infatuation!

Culture is a lethargy-

We are  habitually instinctual and we do not  abide by any rules or structures -If given a chance or in isolation.

Culture gives us a set of norms and regulations-

We follow them as a 'rule book' only in the front stage for managing impressions,

But deep down inside- we look for escapism,

Class structure exploits us-

Our freedom,

But it is we who confirm to class,

Historically we've believed in aggregation and affirmation,

Now, we cannot live alone stateless, penniless,

identity-less and group-less,

Because we've determined our minds to build an image and we live in a world full of imagination.

Our secured world crumbles when we arrive in the field of realism.

Society and Social institutions are a harsh reality.

And we cannot oppose it as we always want to dwell as a social entity in a socio-elite society and promote consumerism.

Consumerism is a higher trend of cosmopolitanism and globalization,

It's another facade of today's capitalism,

We think and act like a passive receiver,

We have lost the zest and passion for revolution,

It's a dull phase of internalization,

We've culturally approved such kind of indulgence and interactions. (Internalization)

Culture will not approve of our inner desires,

Culture will not support our dreams and passions,

But we do style our dispositions according to culture,

Culture shapes our identity, all forms of bonds, and tactics of survival,

In a 'Cultural Cage', we are not free neither we can get full emancipation,

We've to trade off our belongings to the 'Trade-masters',

And then only can we enjoy a 'supposed' ounce of liberation.
