The fate of the mountain and the fountain
Ask that rock,
Ask that fountain,
How they moved on!
The fountain said, You just accept and move on,
Or you accept and stay still like the rock and become like a mountain,
Standing tall, standing straight, persistent amongst all the odds,
The rock smiled briefly and shrugged,
But, I never knew beyond the storms!
Never discovered new horizons,
And, never did I mark into a land of ooze
nor did I step into a flowing river!
I did not know collaboration,
All I knew was to stand alone and strong!
Then, the fountain said,
At least, you are being yourself and your essence is completely yours, you smell like a rock but I smell like a dumpster of algae,
But, I chose to accept it anyways what came into my ways and kept moving on!
Now, I lost my essence becoming something else!
My identity is lost,
The rock smirked,
You did not loose your identity, instead embraced a new one,
Your identity is ever changing, ever adapting,
A multi-purposed one!
Whereas, I have no other way around, nothing novel to do, stagnant in the drought, violent in the storms, heavy in the cloud lines,
Clouds come and go touching my pinnacles, explorers reach their destination at the top defeating my heights,
But, they never decide to stay,
My identity becomes pride of another,
And, their pride becomes my identity,
If none have seen my apex,
I would not have a name,
But, you fountain, people come to rest,
To delve deep into, and perhaps, stay!
Fountain nodded gently, yah, stay only to destroy with all the abysmal junk,
The ebb and flow of the riverine waves interrupt my poise!
Hey, but, you make them pearls in the belly of snails, and, you build an oasis, attracting more wanderers at your feet for a feisty feast!
Well, that's what I am bound to do,
Grow out of nowhere!
Grow out of trashes and baggages!
Perhaps, me too, I had no other choice but to stand still and straight,
The problem is I loved people,
But, people loved the idea of me being lonely,
People stay for their convenience to see a miracle not out of love of exploring the pinnacles,
That's why somehow you and me want to be their necessity,
But, again, when you feel needed, you understand their greed and neediness,
That's what make you distant,
Distant of all the actants!
The fountain and the mountain shared a valley,
Alas! it's their crooked destiny!
