Abjected Love

Is there abjection in love too?

I guess there is.

One moment you find someone so attractive,

Other times you feel abjected on the very species you laid your eyes on,

Is it evolutionary psychology?

Or, is it simply defense mechanism?

You want to protect yourself from the very hurt you have overcome from,

You want to hide yourself, refrain yourself from the very places that once doomed you,

Caused you immense pain, joy and wonders,

Notion of abjection in love,

You abject place, people and memories that would resemble your past,

Memories that haunt you,

Are you sure you are healed?

Are you sure you don't want to connect anymore?

Abjected love is not a rejection,

Rather it is defensive,

Trying not to be offensive,

But, some things comes in cycles.

Similarities and patterns,

Round and about,

Somethings never fade away,

The hate that you develop!

Disclaimer: Now I used my published  research paper's theoretical framework( Kristeva's notion of abjection) into the self-seeking romantic poem. That's how crazy I am! Welcome to my 365 shades of persona🫠🫠🫠🫠
