Still I remember you
Their voice loses its sharpness,
Their anger flies quietly like old letters shattered beneath the bedding.
A familiar song from distance and then they remember,
The walls they have built with pride and ego slowly begins to tremble in the flickers of regrets.
They revisit memories they once buried with stubborn mind.
The unfinished chapter they wanted to close remains unending.
The eyes they avoided becomes a testimony of their ruins.
The love they call weakness is simply too heavy to carry- burdened by regrets and grievances of an irreplaceable love.
Some people become kinder with age not because life taught them mercy, but because regrets did.
Because, somewhere in between the upheavals,
Someone waited for them sincerely and they abandoned the devotion for their ego, pride, hustle and immaturity or for the illusion that another person will love them with the same intensity.
And, guess what they were stuck in such illusion of love for a long time until they realized what they have lost- a pure gem!
Love at its finest form!
The destiny is lost that was written once,
Replaced with misfortune for their own doing!
And, now,
In the quiet solace of their existence,
They melt down.
They soften.
Not loudly, not publicly, but in silence.
But in a way their laugh carries fractures beneath it.
In a way their hands shiver before touching another.
They stand alone amidst the bustling crowd.
They stare too long at the rain,
They hesitate to touch another heart if the other gets the same heartbreak they have endured.
For lost love doesn’t disappear.
They wish they've known this earlier.
It survives like ashes after wood fire,
Grey but with a dormant blaze that can still burn the world!
